Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

Hi-
I am also in PA and am looking to purchase some Amber Stars this spring. I haven't found any available that are not in the UK. Would you be able to tell me where you found yours?
thanks so much-
Dana (Pittsburgh)
Can't help with your search but I can welcome you to this great group...and we are neighbors, from the Burgh too

they were quite meaty,,, hubby had 1 and i split 1 with my daughter....we all had some left over...

I would like to try this experiment again in the spring when they can be on pasture, but then I am not sure I want to go thru that again, they were quite hard to clean out....

this batch was specifically fed the way the customer wanted them, all grain straight to the end..

LOL.... you should have seen a bank managers face the day I offered it as proof of ID when opening an account... and would you believe they refused it as proof of ID????????   It has a pic on it, and is provided by the county after a background check.... but the bank wouldn't accept it, but they would accept a generic VISA card with no photo??????  :smack

Must have been a lefty banker. They don't reconise Guns or Bibles.

Hi Dana! Welcome. If you're interested in the Amber Stars for their production value along with their amiable personality, perhaps Golden Comets or Red Sex Links will fulfill your need and be easier to come by. Just a suggestion.

So sorry Bruce. I know you had some beautiful birds.

bruce----I looked up on this site "what is mg " and got some info.

One thing that is often listed is

all in / all out strategy...............or something like this.

can anyone explain what is meant by this?

is this related to when you get new birds and introduce to an existing flock?
or is this about when one hen has a disease---that all might be infected?

please advise.........

Lisa, did you find the thread https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/113931/chicken-got-a-cold-added-info-ms-mg-ilt-crd-npip

Some interesting reading for sure... it is long and sometimes tedious info to go through, but I am glad I took the time.
