Check around their vent and under their wings to see if you can see any creepy crawlies. Mites usually go on the chickens at night but when they are infested with mites you can see them on the chickens.
Eastern Central PA
3 more chicks died today. I'm going to treat for coccidosis just in case. The only other thing I can think of is the cold, they are a month old and were inside until last Saturday. Maybe the damp cold has been too much for the weaker ones.
This is the chicken coop with the built in run I started last friday the frame is finished I just need to make the house and wrap the house in chicken or rabbit wore the smaller the better

Question: I started a batch of fermented feed... today was the third day, and when I went to stir it, it reeks, I mean really reeks. I just used water, bc my Walmart is out of the acv w/ mother. So is it bad? I have no idea what it should smell like, so maybe I'm a wuss, but I figured I better ask you all.
The babies survived their first night out. They were all huddled in a corner of the pen and not in the upside down dog house. Animals are weird.
