Please help me out here, My husband and I were making eggs yesterday and noticed a bullseye, does that mean these eggs are fertile?
My Lavender Rooster is only 16 weeks old, I personally never saw him mount her, but that doesn't mean he hasn't.
I have been waiting forever to incubate my own eggs!!

What time is dinner?

Thanks, me too! What county are you in? I saw you are near the NY border, I have family in Bradford County, right on the border.
It was terrible, but I'm so thankful everyone is okay!

I'm in Erie County. Bradford County is East of me by about 31/2 hrs.

I'd like to know too! I see this on my eggs, and I thought it meant they were fertile (at least according to The Magic Schoolbus show my kids watch

), but I'm not 100% positive.

My kids love The Magic School Bus!! :)
Wow that would be sooo great if they are fertile.
So a roostet at 16 weeks can do his thing?. I only have 3 laying hens none are lavs, they are 16 weeks too.

This morning I decided to not let chickens out to free range, I have let them out first thing every morning since we got them in May. My daughter told me there were puppies on the porch, I thought she was making it up because our dogs were inside with us.

These girls are so sweet but I would never trust a strange dog around my chickens! I am sooo thankful something made me not let them out! After a few hours I think I found the owner several miles away!

Beautiful Pitties!

oh they are beautiful and the sweetest dogs I have ever met! I will miss them when they go home.

I have a Pit mix and she is a Love. She alerts us to strangers, but when they come in the house when we are there she wants to sit in their laps and lick them to death.

what no chicks? its a nice store but kinda expensive , ts is cheaper on alot of things, that they both carry, name wise and the local feed store is way cheaper but still, i love to go look:D  and i noticed they carry the dukes traps, we bought a conibear trap that was reasonable but they had no trap setter, bill had to make one, still will keep going back to shop, expensive or not :lau

Unfortunately I didn't have much time..
Too many projects and hatching eggs were squeezed in as necessities.
I would have loved 6 or 8 meaties but they were too old to graft to a broody so I held back. I did talk to the fellow who does the orders and got some information for next spring.

I'm glad you kept your chicks in and am very glad the pooches roamed into a yard of someone who was dog friendly...many folks never give strays a chance, let alone a stray pit!
Happy you tracked down the owner but you do realize that you are now on the pooch's list of ' good homes to visit and get some goodies ', right? LOL... don't be surprised if you see them again!
