I just got reprimanded by one of those about an hour ago...let me explain..
I did morning chores till noon, then I started cooking and canning beets, tomatoes and making dinner ( I do not have air conditioning).. when I suddenly realized I did not have enough lids, I quicklygrabbed my keys to run to the store...
The clerk at giant loudly told me that a person is suppose to clean themselves up before going out, I left the stuff on the counter and left, got me things from a different store....
I also once had a lady stop at the FARM and tell me tthat roosters should only make that noise at sunrise...
LMAO!! It's hard to believe that people can be so stupid and ignorant.

had a friend once who firmly believed that stupid people shouldn't be allowed to breed, coming around to that view myself, don't think i would have walked out without reading that clerk his pedigree, you're a ladyI just got reprimanded by one of those about an hour ago...let me explain..

It's always sunrise somewhere in the world . . .I also once had a lady stop at the FARM and tell me tthat roosters should only make that noise at sunrise...
Oh boy, I absolutely hate it! I live in the suburbs, and people think that just because they listen to country music (not even the real stuff), wear cowboy hats/boots, and/or drive a truck, they are "country" material. They brag about how country they are, how they want to move out to the country, etc, but these are the same people who can't live without a cell phone or air conditioning, and complain about how their neighbors lawn looks. A good quote someone told me is that "you ain't country unless you bust your *** bailing hay in 100 degree whether".
Man it bothers me so much, you got these city folks who move out to the over-romanced country, since they're "all about that country life". Next thing you know, they're complaining about the noise and smell of the farms, which causes new ordinances that force out the farmers. So much for them being "country material". Stay in the city please and wear your cowboy hat and listen to your county music, the farmers will thank you!
I need help please. I have 15 girls, 2 are 21 wks, 10 are 16 wks. and 3 are about 13wks. I have a cockerel that is about 13 wks . My older girls started laying Aug 7. I have been getting soft shelled eggs about 3 time a wk, now Sat. night I had 1 ok egg, 1 rubber egg and 1 egg very soft shell all in same nest box. I think that means I might have 3 laying now. My question is: I am not feeding layer feed yet because of their ages. I tried giving them oyster shells, but the 16 wk girls are the only ones eating them. I went through about 5 lbs in 2 days. They are all in the same run and coop. I know you should not feed layer feed under 18 wks. What should I do? My 13 wk olds I just got from Beaglady a wk ago Sun. and they will not come out of the coop. They are eating and growing. I do have a slw and br that seem to pick on them, they don't get any feathers but as soon as they venture out they chase them back in. Will this stop soon? No one else picks on them. My leghorns are the bossy ones but they don't bother them. lol
