...geesh...
as far as this Eric "thing"...wow..if he is still there, he has got to be in some cave or something, still not convinced he is still there though..wouldn't be the best thing to do for him....either way, they need to find him.

***I have a question about ACV..for anyone who may know the answer to help me out...

I have a gallon of ACV that I want to "turn" into ACV w/ "mother"...I have about a half bottle of the "Mother" ACV...***would this be enough to add to the gallon ACV to turn it into "mother" ACV???
I know this can be done, just not too sure if what i have is enough....

LMP:

This is from @FlowerFairey, mix equal part of ACV with and without in a jar, cover the opening of the jar with a coffee filter and rubber band...stick on a shelf at room temps for three weeks....

Good luck dealing with all this, and hope you feel better...
I still think some plantain tea with honey could really help you feel better, without all the side effects of those steroids:oops:. I will hide now and not push my hocus pocus medicine as my hubby calls it
I tried looking for plantain in my backyard. I think my free ranged roosters must have eaten it all. :( If only poke weed would be healthy and not poisonous I have a ton of that growing lol.

Is anyone in Chester County interested in some roosters, or can give me some advice on how to re home them? I have 3 roosters, and only 4 hens, so I'd like to find homes for 2 - I call them Buffalorps

Their dad was a Black Austrolorp; mother was a Buff Orpington. They are beautiful! They were hatched on April 6, so 28 weeks old?

BAZOOKA
CHICLET

Any help would be appreciated!
Wow they are mighty handsome roos you have there.

We processed our free ranging roos. Did not sell any to that guy, he even offered my husband more money for them. I am missing them running around and eating bugs. They did make some yummy chicken wings and fried chicken. They had tiny breasts. :( My cat is missing them too, she had a tick on her :(

For some reason I get error messages when trying to load pics , so that has to wait..
Momma hen has hatched 7 duckies so far, looks like my khaki Campbell boy has been busy..

Also a question for those of you in the medical field, just who should wear a medical bracelet, my family thinks that I should, but I fail to see what an emergency type treatment would matter for an auto immune disease.

By the way, those duck eggs spent about 2 weeks in the fridge before being put under the broody.

How many of you use fermented feed for your chickens? I am doing a small batch to see if it turns out, I THINK I'm doing this right...took a mason jar filled it up with feed. gave a cap full of ACV then filled it with water leaving about an inch of water on top of feed. put lid on and letting it sit until Friday. Is this correct? I didn't have any buckets to use the bucket method. I hope my girls will like this since they waste so much feed scratching.

...have you done this at all?...
been reading about making it from apple peelings and such, but i just wanted a simpler way right now...seems simple enough, hope it works
fl.gif
, cause that Braggs-stuff is NOT cheap.
I am so tired of peeling apples!..seriously..just made 8 quarts of apple pie filling ....next time i get another bucket of apples i will have to save peels.
Doing up some bean salad right now..jars are doing their "thing"...last of the season. A very bitter-sweet feeling ...still have the beets to pull & can though

i don't think you want a lid on that.....it needs to breathe .
I have mine in a gallon bucket....some feed, a "glug" of ACV , water to cover..give a good stir, then sit for 24-48 hours...it will bubble and smell like bread(ish)..hahaha, I have to keep mine in the chicken shed cause dh doesn't care for the smell..it can get strong..I have been on this "go" for ..geesh...this past winter!! ..I just give it a fresh "glug" of ACV every now & then..just to keep it "alive"...this is what works for me though, everyone is different.
My mixture leaves a very nice "cake" on the top for me to scoop off every morning....no draining!

Will it be okay outside on the porch? it's been kinda cold here. Don't think dh will like the smell either. I'll take the lids off. I read that I need to stir every 2 hours for the first 6 hours then just once a day? If this works out we will be using a gallon bucket, we just want to make sure our girls will eat it...they are weird...they are currently hiding under the hcicken hutch becasue there is a big scary ear of corn in the field -_- most chickens would love ears of corn..mine? nope!

hahaha..new things sometimes throw them "off", but i think chickens are "off" to begin with so...

..hahaa...yeah, keep the lids off your jars, don't want exploding messes..I didn't stir mine that often, just when I thought of it or was around to do it....not saying YOU shouldn't , just what I did.
Your chickens may or may not go GAGA over it at first,..sometimes they will hog it like they have never been fed...other times, like some have noted, they look at it like "I am supposed to eat that?!"...just give it to them, when they get hungry enough, they WILL eat it..believe me and it won't take that long either..hahaha
The temps. do make a difference in how quickly your mixture starts to ferment...maybe keep it soe where a "bit" warmer to start..then when you start to smell it..then move it..that way you know it has begone to do it's "thing"...JMO anyway......good luck with your brew!!!
