looks great! It's amazing how much work we put ourselves through and how much we change our ideas lol. Our coop still isn't completely done and we're already planning a major addition/modification next spring to add more coop and run space lol. Gotta love them though!Good Morning all.. Have some pics to share also. We have finally "finished" enclosing the lrg coop!!...there is still more work to be done, but the bulk of the work is accomplished. A bookcase given to me from Motorcycle chick has been converted into nest boxes..have made some roots from materials we have around..for now-they are temporary..we will be working on more permanent structures..when we have recovered from this endeavor.
... I have taken pictures of each step throughout the process..not going to over this thread with them, i will be making an "album" later to document all of this, so much has been learned from every improvement/adjustment we make having these animals...truly is an expanding experience! This coop "construction" was done with free/reclaimed/repurposed materials...we have only purchased (4-5) 2x4's to build the front wall..the windows were purchased at auction from my mother. It has approx. a year & 1/2 to get it to this point. Next warm season we will be either painting or (if we can find the materials-free), siding the coop. *Before the removal of the small coop & beginning of the construction....

I still have one large watermelon left for them. I didn't start to get them until Oct. and only got 4. The girls sure liked them. I'm going to give them the last one today and then start on pumpkins!!! They are sooooo spoiled!!!!
Looking good! It is amazing how when you think your done and you can always think of something else to do. I want to put a wall with leftover hardware wire and screen door around my galvanized trash cans so the chickens will stay off of them. I get tired of scraping poop of when I get in them to feed them plus I'm always afraid I will get some of that chicken poop in them when I get the feed out.Good Morning all..

I spent the night in Brookville, PA. This morning I was in the bathroom with a person wearing yellow hotpants. He had nice legs, I have to give him that! He was ignorant in general, but we had a nice conversation while he put on his makeup.
Headed for Chicago with cocoa.
I am sure you will meet some interesting people on this journey, keep us posted.
Homebound in Lancaster county does not seem to interesting to me but for some reason others like to stop and take pics,,,, not sure if I should be scared or flattered when this happens....

This past weekend I took a drive over to Lititz to pick up a rooster. Took the scenic route across the top of rapho and Penn Twp. My traveling companion was admiring the scenery, my comment was "people pay to come see this, I consider it just ruining an errand."
There were a couple Mennonite (i think, didn't look like right clothing colors to be amish) children standing beside the old store in Mastersonville. Her comment was it looked just like a postcard.
We often fail to see what is around us every day.
