I need to do a lot of work tomorrow. My runs collasped under the weight of all the wet snow. We got about 10 inches.

I hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving
Sorry to hear about the runs! Are all the birds ok? Seems like weather related stuff is hard to plan for and happens at inconvenient times.

The birds were all ok. Just more work for me to do in the cold and snow :( I was happy no one was hurt. It's going to be a long winter. Hubby is trying to figure out how to stop this from happening again. My garden totally collasped. Hubby was thinking about letting the chickens have that as a bigger run. Guess we have more work to do there too.

Thank you for the well wishes, Dad is already home but very limited. Bless the docs at Hershey Med!

I used to drive 120 miles a day back and forth to Camp Hill for work so 2 hours isn't so bad. It takes me almost an hour just to get to my parents and I try to visit with my little one once a week!

Also, got my own biopsy results back today and thankfully, they were NEGATIVE!:weee Drinking some homemade wine, celebrating the good news and my birthday!

Happy to hear your good news!

Yes. As Blarney knows, I have reason to bless the doctors at Hershey med.

Sitting at the Harrisburg airport. Daughter's plane was delayed over 2 hours. Sigh.

In chicken news, the girls are going in the coop every night. Since they have a completely enclosed run I am not shutting the door so they can come out as early as they want. I am not a morning person.

That's awesome. I'm hoping to have my run completely enclosed soon too.

It's snowing pretty good here. Already have one inch of snow. Let out my layer girls today and the rooster came out and looked at the snow and looked at me and looked at the snow and looked at me like it was my fault that stuff was there lmao. My silkies refused to come out of the coop. It's going to be a long winter.

I hear ya with the Silkie. I have to put my girl in every night and she doesn't seem to get out in the morning until I boot her out. I think the ramp is high for her or she can't figure it out.

Thinking about applying at the local TSC, does anyone think this may be a bad idea...I may be better off at a grocery store though, we spend less there..

Isn't this like alcoholic working at a bar? I say that with love. :hugs

Wing...i like the rooster pic and the hen pic, but would crop them both down a little so the birds would stand out better. for scenery I would go with the barn... but I have always been a sucker for big old barns!

X2 love the Roo.

@ Wing, I like the picture of the meaties.

I usually shop on Black Friday but am not feeling so great, so taking it easy. We couldn't get everyone together yesterday, so are having Thanksgiving today. We are roasting our very own 22 lb turkey. I wanted to brine it, but the only pot I have that is big enough is aluminum and I think that's a no-no for brining.so I settled for pouring the brine over the bird and sticking it back in the fridge. Oh well. Hope everyone is safe and warm today.

Blarney, this may be too late but you could put the bird in an unscented garbage bag and then add the brine and put it in the big pot. It would just need rotated a few times to make sure all parts were exposed to the brine.

Sorry to hear you aren't feeling good. Hope you are better soon!

We are heading to the Vet's with the latest stray DH befriended. Poor thing showed up during the 5¤ cold snap we had and we didn't have the heart to chase her off. Not her fault someone was an a**hole and dropped her off when she wasn't a cute kitty anymore. She is going for shots and a spay so even if she chooses to stray she will be relatively healthy and not adding to the population.
