it is a good price especially for the swedish flower...
i am guessing some sticker shock, there's a big difference when you go from run of the mil mixes to pure stock....
i can no longer offer the color variety in hatching eggs since we are heading towards all brown, i found most just wanted the variety and didn't matter the breed....
I have sold many eating eggs to find out later that they got hatched

That was peer dozen. It's early in the year, I haven't checked fertility yet, some may get cool, and it was for the kids.

I know I'm basically giving them away. And that silkie is in that pen. She seemed to want to be there. I need to move her son so I can hatch pure. I can't distinguish her eggs in that pen. Other pens lay darker or green or is a mix anyway.

And my neighbor informed me when their ducks stay laying they want to start breedimg, I might be doing their hatching for them.

For those that don't know, I'm trying one of those Janoel incubators they sell on eBay. They are designed to roll the eggs. Mine is designed for 24 chicken, but I have 50 quail in it.

It is all plastic and uses a motor like normal egg trays to move a set of bars horizontally pushing the eggs so they roll. It seems they are moving, although some get flipped pointy end up sometimes. Water is similar to the Styrofoam ones. It moves back and forth every four hours or so.

My temperature fluctuates in my house and it isn't insulated, so we shall see. Truly bad case scenario to test it under.

Just letting it do it's thing, not really monitoring it. Adding water a couple times a day to keep humidity up. I have more eggs from the same batch in my normal incubator also unmonitored as a control.

I'll let you know in about 10 days how it works.

Saying prayers that her radiation goes well and not feeling to poorly after.

X2!

Sadly, we lost him to my exes neglect last summer in the heat when Mr Lazy decided to not bother to water anyone for 4 days straight while I was sick & wasn't able to double check him. He was worse than my kids.

At least he's not around anymore...:D

Anne:

I helped a friend of mine with a hen who lost her feet to frostbite...we broke a tong depressor in 1/2...then got two syringes and cut in 1/2 attached the back end to the tong depressor and used surgical  tape for insulation....little tyke is still gimping today....

That's awesome!

Ladders work well to overcome thorny rose bushes. To those of you that are planting rose bushes under their daughter's windows,

Ooo! I just had another idea, stinging nettle! That stuff hurts, and it lasts! I heard its very healthy to eat (after being boing boiled) also, lots of magnesium. I know I messed up this quote.
