Guys... I'm so upset. Chippy was missing today, the only thing I found was a fee feathers. I think it was a fox... She was 4, and still so healthy. I can't believe she's gone :hugs
I'm so sorry!!!

I'm so sorry, losing a bird to a predator is the worst!! :hugs

Hey, what's up from SE PA?

welcome from central PA!

Thanks so much everyone. It's just that she was my first one, the one that made me fall in love with this hobby. She's been the sole survivor and has seen many of her friends come and go. She was the hardiest old battle axe and now she's just gone. I'll never see her again, and it just tears me up. I never knew I could love a chicken so much. She knew her name, would come when I called her, did tricks, everyone loved her. She stood up to every roo I've had and didn't take any crap. She made the rules, she was the queen bee. Before I noticed she was gone, I found one of my broodie's chicks drowned in one of the big black bowls. I didn't think they would ever be able to jump that high. It was my favorite one. So all around it was a pretty sad day.

I'm so sorry, I have a few that I would be sad to lose too. Here's hoping one of the broody's chicks will be your new favorite. :hugs

How is every body doing tonight ?

Great! We got a new car Tuesday and I took it around the block a few times last night. It's a '94 Vette! :D

Hello from Bucks county! Welcome!

I found out this morning that my 2 remaining male guineas will fight without a female being present.

They are running around trying to kill each other. Both of their heads are all bloodied up. I was hoping they wouldn't do this without a female around but no such luck. They chased each other into my 2 have a heart traps this morning (which I thought was pretty funny) and were still trying to kill each other through the wire. Dumb birds. Getting a female is out of the question! Hubby hates these birds lol

Feeling a bit like a jerk today. My chicken math got our of control this year.
I'm rearranging chickens, moving the oldest babies out of the garage to the outside bachelor pad so I can move the babies that are in my bedroom out to the garage (making room for the turkey poults due to hatch next week). I have 16 juveniles and 1 adult out in a pen built big enough for 4 adults  Most are boys destined for freezer camp if they aren't sold but still, I'm feeling bad. At least there's no fighting going on. My neighbors should be bringing down their old cop this weekend so that would give them a little more indoor space. I'm hoping I sell a few at the swap tomorrow lol.
