Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

I am still here, just been a busy spring, I read the thread when I can...
CC, you are always welcome, not just when I am missing...
I will need to go around and get some pics, everyone is growing up quickly and not so quickly on the meaties, they look really good just growing a little slower than I expected... pasture raised really does take longer, hope the end result is worth the extra time...

My neighbor is getting $3/pound for pasture raised.

I put 131 eggs into lockdown in my coolerbator hatcher tonight :fl

I didn't think I had that many, my record keeping must  be getting sloppy.

I've seen your setup. I don't know how you keep track at all!

Hi All,

I am in SE PA looking for an adult rooster.  Bantam or SF.  Anyone wanting to make space for their new, younger boys or too many roos...let me know!!!

Something like,  Ameraucana, Faverolle, Cochin...I like alot of feathers and the unusual.

HOPING to pick up this weekend!

We have a nice place, plenty of room and grass and dust baths and bugs.  1/4 to roam around in.

I did post in buy sell trade, not too much interest, figure i'd put it out to my neighbors.   :frow

I have some young chicks that are about 3 weeks old, if you want a young Roo, I'm sure we'll be able to tell in a couple weeks.

I have lots of interesting looking roos. I'm in northern Chester Co, where are you? It's pretty easy to find nice young roos this time of year, so I'd concentrate on finding one close by.

Specific but - anyone know where I can find a black silkie pullet/chick? I'm in NWPA which means I travel the very East side of OH, up to Erie, Corry, down to Pittsburgh, Tionesta, Clarion, Kittanning.
Having trouble locating one. I know you guys pride yourselves on your enabling. :)

Before I drop a couple grand this weekend, anyone have anything good or bad to say about large riding mowers. Looking at husqvarna in the 48" range to cover 2-3 acres. How do they hold up? Wish I could afford a rider and a tractor with a belly motor, but money is tight. Need to make do with a rider.

Husqvarna is a good name and known for good products but if money is tight, I'd look for something used. We managed to get a '78 gravely with 50" mower deck, tiller, and plow for $300. We had to rebuild the carb but the thing runs great now and does everything. It's amazing what you can find in classifieds, craigslist or Pennswoods.net

Just rehomed one myself a few days ago.....I'd check the rehoming on BYC there are always many.....

Well folks, came home from work to find the fox has taken my lav orp....she was penned but has on occasion flown out and gone free ranging....just ordered more fox traps...boy its discouraging....

follow up, I went across the railroad tracks and looked for signs....about 20ft off the railroad found a feather pile and about 10' away under some honeysuckle plants found the opening to the den.....now to find the other den openings.....paybacks are coming....
