In the heat, a chicken drops its wings to cool off. I know a droopy wing means something else. I really hope someone pops on with an idea of what. For the time being, you've done what you can.

i have a few that drop wings in the heat, it seems to be breed specific, my serama rooster often does it...

Well, I had a decent hatch!  Only two of the dozen or so eggs under the broodies hatched.  I'm fine with that since fertility is still iffy on the bantams.  I have a load of Wheaten/Blue Wheaten/Splash Wheaten chicks, some that I am going to sell as Easter Eggers because they have clean faces (anyone interested?).  I actually hatched some bantam Cochins, too!  I am so excited about them!  I have some eggs from Wade Collins I paid over $100 for.  I have 2 of his chicks out and 4 are still moving around in their shell.  I have one of my own blues out, too!  Some F2 chocolates and some chocolate mille b.cochins.  Really, the bantam Cochins are all I really care about right now!  In 2wks I'll worry about the spangled/mottled Orps.

I have one of those bantam Cochins from Wing. She is very sweet. I can defintely see why anybody would want them.

I got out to tractor supply today and picked up some vet wrap. Did my best to wrap the wing but I couldn't really find any examples. Did a figure 8 wrap as demonstrated on a falcon and then tried to wrap the wing to the body, sling style. Not sure I got the shoulder up as high as it should be, but he was not really happy with me and I didn't want to hold him longer than necessary.

so, does that mean that since summer is here and the ai will go away that things will go back to normal, with fairs, auctions, swaps and trades allowed to open again? what do you think?
it will take awhile, some places still do not allow poultry and the original ban was back in the 80's.
