pretty cute ducks, hope they get a home.

Anyone else get walloped by the storm? We have no power, trees are down everywhere, streets closed, hubby had a tree fall on a car at work. Pretty crazy. I've got chicks hatching, thand God for the generator.

wow, sorry you got slammed! Really gotta love those generators though! We got hit with the outer edge of it. Lots of Thunder and a bout of heavy rains and winds but we didn't get hit head on.

I'm so tired of all this rain! My covered run which has never gotten more than a little damp on the edges is soaked! I feel for my girls running around in it. Not to mention my little extra coop where the boys are waiting for freezer camp. That run isn't covered and is nothing but a big muddy pit :/

All my poults all in a row! The littles will be 2 weeks old tomorrow and this is the first time they all made it to the top of the brooder with the big ones lol

We must be very fortunate here. We have had plenty of rain, but lots of dry days in between too. My tomatoes (which I put out mid April) are already taller than me. We are getting cherry tomatoes now. .

That's so cute. You really are very blessed. You have a great brooder setup. It's nice your hubby helps you too. My husband won't even pick up a live chicken.

Sorry to hear...West Chester got it bad, most ot the town lost electric....I got home from work around 10:30p expecting the worst and there was nothing...also heard south of Media, near Wawa got hit pretty good .....

So my one maran still has no tailfeathers. Read somewhere here that roos get tailfeathers later than pullets. Truth?

I usually mix a small amount of permethryn(sp) in the pine shaving that I am adding to the nest box areas...not holistic, but, I have not had a lice problem (that I could determine) ....

I've added DE in the spring, should have had it in there and in their dusting areas all winter and they might have been able to keep it under control on their own. I do have poultry dust (with permethrin) in it, but I'm hesitant to use it in the nest boxes because of pesticides like that scare me around food. It's my back up if this method doesn't work.

Baby bird says "hi everyone!" She's doing really well and is jumping and perching well

She does great holding onto fingers.....

But she prefers to jump up here lol. I've officially become mama bird and she starts chirping and hopping around when she sees me coming. I even get the wing and tail wiggles when I have food for her lol.

"Where's my food?"

One thing that has me concerned, and I don't know if you can really tell by the pictures, but she seems to let her one wing hang a bit compared to the other. She doesn't really try to fly or anything yet but I'm worried that when she fell out of the nest, get wrong might have been injured. I can't feel anything or see anything so it's a wait and see type thing right now.
