For my two cents:
Just had my chooks checked for AI,,,came back negative from New Boulton ....be a bit concerned about what you let into your flock....my two cents...
I'm selling, not buying...so good here. I need to unload some chicks. Ohio still hasn't had a case of AI so I know my flocks are fine. Talked to my NPIP tester a couple weeks ago. They are trying to get the ban raised by end of Aug so that will leave me time to hatch for a couple more swaps at least. I stopped setting anything but turkeys & a few tutors when the ban went in but I had over 300 eggs in the bator & 4 brooders of chicks already at that point.
My two cents, make sure no one upwind of you has illness! You may not sell everything and I recommend some quarantine when you get back.
I always quarantine sale birds that don't sell. I keep everyone that's headed for swaps separate from my main flock anyway, so we're good. Been doing this for several years.
Perfect!
