GR:

Just a followup on fisher's comments....I always have many feeders with food always available in different spots...sometimes the big girls push the little ones away from the food....also, for babies, I'll get the big girls eating then put a separate bowl for the babies in a different spot...I like to cut the bottoms off 2 liter bottles...my two cents

Thanks, I appreciate any and all input:)

The broody was off the nest yesterday, and seemed broken. I took eleven eggs (10 warmish and one just laid) and left them outside. I had seen her out today, so when I went out an hour ago, I flung the eggs into the yard, breaking two. Then I walk into the pen to find... Yeah. You guessed it! I reached in, expecting to get pecked. Instead she screamed, and ran outside. Three eggs. That means four between yesterday and today.

Where are all my eggs? I was getting 5/day before she went broody. And is it worth putting her in a broody pen?

Good evening all....its confirmed my second girl (and F2 olive egger) has started earning her keep...and I'm proud to say a really dark olive!!!

Give her a couple of golf balls to 'egg sit' for a couple of days to see if she commits...and see if you can somehow fence her nest off to reduce the disruptions from other hens. if you can get her nest situation figured out and she parks herself then you can probably give her some eggs. If it doesn't work then you can go ahead and break her.
As far as egg numbers, could just be a normal low in the hens' cycles or could be someone else considering brooding or they may be slowing as daylight reduces...

I can see it it is so amazing. I'm just sitting on the back porch and taking it all in. I wish I could get a good picture of the moon for all of you with clouds but my phone just won't.
