Perfect! I start all of my coops with KILZ, then I paint them in whatever ridiculous color I find in the 'Oops' section -Paint that has been mixed and returned for whatever reason. Usually about $7 a can!. I try to stick to the earth colors, but end up with pinks and purples quite often.

Does anyone plant clovers in your yard? I spent the entire spring and summer to kill all the dandelions and clovers in my 1.3 acre yard and now I'm consider to plant them back for chickens! The ex-owner of the house didn't have livestock but too lazy to take care of the lawn. I couldn't stand it, so I worked really hard to clean all the weeds. I wish I never did that.
My question is: if I only plant clovers in part of my yard, will chickens stay in this area and not wonder to neighbor's yards?![]()
I forgot to mention that both neighbors' yards on the sides are weed-free. Really nice lawns, now I'm gonna ruin the beauty with my chicken fodderI just thought a whole field of them was pretty.
Good for dandelion wine too.
The chickens will eat their fill of clover and go off and into the neighbors' yard looking for the next goodie.
I don't intentionally plant them, but I don't kill them either. Funny how your perspective changes, I get very upset now when pulling dandelions and wild garlic, if I happen to pull up the crown or roots. I want it to grow back quickly. A field with hundreds of dandelions in full bloom now warms my heart because I don't see weeds, I see poultry fodder.
