[/URL]My chicks came today but we had to change the order a,bit instead of speckled sussex we were to get 2 of them we got andwe got 2 barred rocks 2SLW...1 australorp and we think 1 welsummerDoes the chipmunk colored lady look like a welsumer chick, that is what they thought it was at Myers.

congrats on the newbies,,,,don;t know about the chickmunk pattern...just hope its a girl!.....

She seems too fluffy to be a welsummer. Could it be an easter egger?
I don't think an easter egger that was not on the list of available chicks she there....she had RIR welsumer white Cornish and one more on the list but can't remember what the last was. The one in question I go becauseyour 2 sussex didn't make it i, however they will be in tomorrow and I think that means I have to check myathletes as I may be 2 chickens, short and may have to add 2 Speckled sussex to my new flock.

I would like to take this time to prepare you for what you have gotten yourself into. Please take all of your life savings, and kiss it goodbye. Then head to the first hatchery in a 200 mile radius. Buy all the chicks. Proceed to the next hatchery, and buy all the chicks there. While you are at it, you may as well buy all the poults. Look for a goat farm and a mini cow farm. You are going to need them too.
This has been the first lesson in raising chickens. Thank you, and have a nice day!
