Need to Vent a little with people who 'get it'. ~ Bella's not much better, DH kept her in the garage the same night DS skipped locking up our juvenile BCMarans. The whole coop including my daughter's showmanship Polish was wiped out. We've lost our line of BCMs and I'm upset and furious. Just checked the incubator and it was at 110, so not such good luck around here. Chores are awful. Normally, I'm happy to be outside, it helps me clear my head. Now I'm running into feathers everywhere and then I'm incredibly sad and mad all over again. Makes me just want to throw in the towel.

On another note, The gate to the goat enclosure was left open this morning and the slider to the kitchen was left open a smidge. So I had goats in the kitchen today... kinda funny.

Oh no! I'm so so sorry to hear all this. I can only imagine what you must be going through right now. At least the goats were trying to cheer you up. If you decide that you want more Marans, my girls should be coming into lay here in the next month or two (if they start on time). I have I think 9 pullets from various backgrounds. Only the best of which will be kept on for breeding. I'd be happy to send you some eggs. Maybe along a chicken train run?

Looks like one of my meaties may have to be dispatched early. She seems to have injured her leg and went from hobbling the past couple days to just laying there now. I'm guessing that she may have jumped down out of the coop instead of walking the whole way down the ramp. She still eats vigorously when put near the food dish but has stopped trying to walk. They're only about 6 weeks old now, maybe? Should I just cage her and keep food and water in reach for her to get bigger before butcher or just go ahead and butcher now? This is our first time raising the meaties. Odd thing is, she's actualy one of the smallest ones and she's the one who hurt herself :/

Well my first venture into chickend has been interesting to say the least, i have learned alot from everyone here, alittle disappointed in the fact that out of 8 supposed to be layers from myers i got 2 roosters and a meatbird. The roosters are a SLW and a SS. I dont thi k i will be able to keep both roosters, not sure i am e en allowed one.

Yep, we get it...and it sucks! Only thing I can offer is a :hugs and the hope that things will get better tomorrow. I am glad your goats invaded though, sounds like the perfect distraction in an otherwise horrible day!
