  Pepper looks like a rooster.

Hmmm... Pepper *has* been quite vocal since I got her/him - I guess I'll have to keep a look out!

The NHR's are 14 weeks old, Tiny (Silkie) is 18 weeks old.

Ready to start our next great adventure! We honestly probably won't have any bees til next spring unless a swarm moves in but we're still excited :) The guy that we got them off of was very nice and explained a lot to us about keeping them and caring for them. This should be really cool :)

@MotorcycleChick I usually give them 1-3 slices that are an inch thick at the widest part of the rind (if that makes sense?) Kinda like what a typical slice looks like

:thumbsup Just checking. I don't always think about the ratio of bird to treat. Orange poop happens when you have three pumpkins with only eight birds in the pen. So I've heard.

I haven't fed them pumpkin yet (thinking of planting some next year perhaps). I've been checking their poop and it looks to be fairly normal, no sight of worms. Found a big ol' solid plop with white cap this morning, which I assume is Tiny's

I gave them some frozen slices about an hour ago. This heat is really awful and worrisome. I'm trying everything I can to keep them comfortable. And tomorrow will be worse!

I put my hose on "Mist" and hang it over the fence of their run. It just does a section, but it really helps.

LMP!!!! I have missed you! Anytime you want to meet up, let me know. I still go to Calico. Sometimes TS. Are you still having trouble with the idiot neighbor? I still have the strong hubby with the intimidating looks, if that would help....

Hi all! I just got chicks last week so they are 7 days old! 2 days ago, I found one laying kind of on it's back with its leg out and it was kind of shaking. I was so worried I scooped it right up and put it right side up. It stumbled and then it seemed fine. I checked it's vent and there was some poop there so I was thinking pasty butt. I cleaned its bottom and put some aquafor (like Vaseline) on. Little one seemed to be okay all yesterday and then this afternoon I found it on it's side, almost back, again with its leg out shaking again. Again I put it upright, no pasty butt. Seems fine, eating and drinking. Any ideas?

I thought maybe sleeping the first time when I looked back on the situation but after today, I'm not sure. If it happens again I'm going to examine more. It's.seemed to be good all evening!
