This is so rewarding to come home to after a long day at work! Love my chickens! And rooster!

I have another brown layer today. :jumpy

Chick one is standing on pip two's shell. I'm going to have to roll it back over. Pip three you'll be out in a few minutes. It is now resting before actually shoving its shell completely off.
I think I saw another pip, but chick one turned it over before I could see.

Thank you ...want some more????:weee ....

Ah! I do relish in other's gardens! We've been in our house for 3 years now, and have 2 little raised beds but I have plans for more (something like that blackberry & strawberry setup you've got!) We planted a honeycrisp and a hedelfingen cherry tree in the spring so I'm curious to see how those turn out.

Three might be out now. I did not see it until I was rolling over pip number two. It was almost done zipping at that point. It has been about 15 minutes, and was resting a minute ago when I looked.
Pip number two was doing fine… Until I got involved. I think it was starting to zip, but did not see that until I was removing some more shell. I decided that since it was pip down for a while, I should be sure it was breathing okay. I know better than to do something like that. That did not stop me. I am sure it will be okay though. I have not killed one that I have assisted yet.

I am torn between killing the chick that won't shut up (I am kidding!) and putting it out with its moms. I was going to move the moms finally, but I think they still only have one chick. I am having trouble being patient with Duckling here. IDK why. She isn't a problem.
So, it will stay in the incubator tonight, and tomorrow I will deal with the girls. Lesson learned. Don't under estimate a mother's desire to be in a nest box. She will break down that barrier!

there is nothing stronger than a mothers desire, for sure!! I have had those days when Bug is just being Bug and I am the one with the issue...found that when i am more than normal stressed, that is when i am more suseptible to being less patient. I try to make a concious effort to 'see ' this when it happens and make sure to give a physical hug and say 'i love you'...it is still surprising how much that works to destress me:D

AWESOME!!!:highfive:

Oh, I am not stressed with her. I just know I have things to do, and can't figure out when to do them. Remember, I have neighbors that freak if I am outside. With or without her.
If I were to go outside to pick some tomatoes, they would want to know why she wasn't with me. So, moving chickens has to be well planned.
