I have not done "serious" advertising (Craigslist didn't get a single response, and I gave up) but I do have a whole flock of mutt pullets that are ready to go. When BIL was alive, he was supposed to take them. Now they are laying, and I don't need that many eggs.

Put our coop on craigslist, got 20 some emails. Never know so many chicken people around this area.

Babies got to spend most of the day outside swimming and playing today. The chickens discovered then and really had no clue what they were looking at lol

I apologize for going on about these birds...

Wingtip, thus named for the white tips at the end of each wing, escaped the coop, but is still hanging around the yard and woods near the house. We've made food and water available for him/her and the still MIA EE, Gladys, and have seen it hanging around the coop where the rest of the flock is kept.

We're pretty confident that Wingtip will stick around, and are trying to be optimistic about Gladys finding her way back to our yard (as opposed to the woods beside the neighbors yard), but would still like to try and integrate them with our crew at some point, so we would still need to catch them.

Does anyone have any suggestions for this? Since they are essentially wild and very people shy, we don't want to do anything that is going to frighten them farther into the properties around us, and we certainly don't want to try anything that could cause potential bodily harm.

for my two cents keep the food and water available...they will have no reason to leave....last piece is a roo.....they love to call the girls to food....exploit this.....lots of treats where your boys can 'seduce' the girls....lastly....find where they are roosting and coral them at night....after you pen them you can work on the socialization ...my two cents....good luck...this is not an easy solution....
