Apparently my turkey thinks today is a good day to start laying.... She has at least one egg under her, but not sure if there's only one. She hisses at me when I get too close. I'm sure they're fertile though, I saw her get mounted last week. And yes, she is next to the porch, not anywhere near the coop. :lol:

Christmas is FINALLY over for us...well almost.

Hubby got a heated chicken waterer from his mom for Christmas so fingers crossed that he likes using it.  So far, the temps are in the 20's and the water is not frozen so I call it a success!

We got snow last night, enough for a 2 hr delay here this morning.

I have a feeling that 2017 is going to be really busy!

It was 18 degrees here im not from huntingdon county. Im getting tired of the changing and breaking water

Congratulations on your new turkey layer :) A couple of mine have started laying too. I have 6 eggs in the bator to test fertility :)

I guess turkey eggs don't taste any different, right? Hubs will find out tomorrow.:D

Funny but gross story. Went to turn off the light in my coop. Tom turkey poops and it lands on one of the girls below him. I take a step closer to inspect (to see if looked normal and not runny like the other night.). Another turkey flaps her wings and fresh turkey poop flies and lands on my glasses. Thank goodness I wasn't wearing contacts!! :lol: Well it looked normal, but smelled super nasty. Haha!
