More Lavender Ams chicks hatched this week. I really should sell these, but they are so cute, even my wife keeps asking about them. Got 6 eggs from the 6 pullets today too, so the Lavenders are on a tear right now.

Set 233 eggs tonight, time to get some sleep.

So while we hatched our 5 chicks this past week, we had a broody sitting on 7 eggs. We threw them in the incubator when she abandoned them. I couldn't bring myself to throw them out with developing babies inside them! We candled today and 4 are fertile. Oy, I said I was done hatching more chicks since we live in an apartment and aren't really allowed to have many... I'm in trouble!

Has anyone here ever used Vetrx? I am awake in the middle of the night and thinking about my sneezing silkies. It looks like the Vetrx is a blend of essential oils and compounds in a corn oil and alcohol base, similar to Vicks. It's only $9 at tractor supply, so I think I'm going to try a bottle. The reviews on Amazon are very good.

Yes, I think it works. I put it under the wings if I can since a chicken sleeps with its beak there. On the nose, and a few drops on the water.

@fisherlady. Update on shipping shows eggs are coming today. I am going to stick them in the bator, just for kicks. I will put in a couple of my own just as a precaution against having a lone chick. Which end goes up? I do have an egg turner in the bator.

Fat (air cell) end up...most probably have a number on the air cell end anyway.

Edit to add...I would call your post office and see if you can pick them up yourself rather than having them sent out for normal delivery...
