Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

Got home last night to a chick missing from the coop. As I was walking out there to double check (the missing chick is a small CL pullet so I thought maybe Dad missed counting her) I heard a peep to the right. The hunt was on!! I looked in the willow tree while dad checked next to garage. Right as I called my dog Novel, the other dog, Chopperfound her wedged into a board on the garage wall. Took me a min but I got her out and back in with her siblings!! Crisis averted.

Hey guys how much is a normal rate for someone stopping in once a day to feed and water everyone? And do I pay them before or after? After right? I have a bunch of people stopping in but the main person is someone I buy birds back and forth with. I'm pretty sure he wants my last few Muscovy and some barred rocks but not sure how many to give him.

I would say it depends a lot on how much needs to be done but I did see around here that someone was willing to pay $20/day for someone to care for their animals. I saw another add too that someone was offering animal care for $20/day.

I am in such an odd situation! I have a nice couple on their way over to take my last rooster. They were over to get a few started pullets last week ,ended up taking the pullets brother as well. While at my house they spotted my silkie rooster and fell in love, texted me and asked about him, so I went out on a limb figuring it's not everyday people WANT your rooster , so he is going now as well. This is the first time I ever had no roosters. Ahhhhhh!!!! I do have 8 chicks and 3 on the way, so odds are I'll have a new man around the coop soon enough, but what an odd feeling for me!

Okay thanks! I offered him a 100 for 3 days and a jumbo Peking male. He seemed happy with it. With no family out here its kinda hard to find someone.

Sounds reasonable to me, depending on the animals. Thankfully, my one neighbor likes chickens and has talked about getting them. She has agreed to check in on my chooks when we go away for a few days. I told her I would pay her, she said just give me eggs. Haha, easily done!

Wow, that is unusual. Enjoy your time without nature's alarm clock! I have more 'alarm clocks" than I know what to do with. I'm hoping the banty langshan will be quieter and peaceful, so I can keep him. Looks good so far and he is about 3 months old.

Received another shipment from Sand Hill today, but still no Creme Brabanters (sorry @AnneInTheBurbs). Here is a list of what I got today:
American Dumpy (3)
Blue Andulusian (4)
BB Red Cubalaya (1)
Black Leghorn (1)
Sicilian Buttercup (5)
Exchequer Leghorn (2)
Golden Campine (5)
Golden Lakenvelder (3)
Mille Fleur Leghorn (7)
Silver Krainekoppe (3)
I wish I was better at id'ing chicks, I'd like to sell some of these, but I can't tell most of them apart.
