Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

Hello to you both! :welcome from Berks county! :D

So one of my bielfelder boys is really small. Like runt small. He's still moving and eating and drinking he's just.... tiny. I can't tell if he's a runt or not or if that even happens with chickens. He seems fine just kinda little... it's weird.

Speaking of the Biel boys... I need someone to buy them off of me please! Bielfelders turn into very sweet boys, I have two both of them are $6 each right now however if you'd like to take both of them I'll drop it to $10 for the pair I just need them out of the brooder. I'm going to let everyone on facebook know as well and worst case scenario they'll be posted to craigslist. :fl I just hope someone buys them
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I have never had much success selling male chicks, even Biels. I gave a few away, but most end up being killed for animal food. There are very few people looking to add a rooster to their flock.

Some naughty little girl has been laying eggs behind our garage... under an oil tank. On gravel! There were over two dozen eggs. I have no idea who the culprit is. The eggs were probably old and dirty, so I cooked them up and fed them to the flock. Wow, those yolks were dark yellow! Now, to observe tomorrow and see who the mystery layer is.

I have a barred rock that lays eggs in a nook (crook? what do you call it?) of a tree, up high, just past where I can reach. It's fun climbing to gather her eggs

First turkey egg is zipping! None of the others look to have a visible pip though. Hopefully, they will catch up tonight.

That storm was loud!! It was shaking the house so bad, I have Duckling in my bed. It makes us feel better, and apparently the dog. He has a fear of storms lately, and settled in record time with both of us with him.

We only had one loud crack of thunder but a lot of lightning. We were driving home from my parents house and had a strike flash VERY close to us. I saw nothing but a blinding light for a second. It was rather neat, but a little scary. My daughter had a panic attack though.
