I like regular rooster crowing, but not peacock! I don’t care how beautiful they are, they do sound like a kid crying for help! Scary! And so loud!

There used to be a random peacock wandering in the field across the street from Giant in Jennersville. Haven't seen in it in over a year now though. The peacocks at Plumpton Park Zoo are probably mimicking the kids who chase them yelling "come back", while trying to get a feather!I can attest to the peacocks being , well, unneighborly-sounding. Folks a half-mile away from us had them until recently. Growing up here, it freaked me out a little as a kid, always sounded like little children crying for help, especially at 3am!!
If you just want a lot of eggs, Moyers in Quakertown sells point of lay red sexlinks for about $10 each. If you want specific breeds, or pretty color eggs or hens, that will be a lot harder to find.I am currently without chickens. Want to get some of the larger breed girls at laying age. Where is the best place and should I do it now or wait for spring?
