Update from the incubator!

Just candled, technically day 6 but tomorrow I'm gonna be super busy so I figured tonight would be prudent. Out of 24 eggs only 4 duds!

There are a couple air cells that look a bit on the smaller side, and there's only one egg I'm actually worried about. Um... So I guessed wrong on which side the air cell was when I originally set this one and it's probably my best looking embryo, he's just... Developing on the wrong side/upside-down. Should I flip the egg so it's air cell up? Or just keep it as is embryo side up for now?

I've never seen any "studies" about the correct thing to do with an upside down egg. It happens to me sometimes and if it is early in the cycle (first candling at a week or so), I generally switch them to air cell up. But if they are closer to hatching, I leave them. Either way, I have not tracked whether these eggs hatch or not. I can't handle the idea that they should be culled, so I make a guess and hope for the best.

Today is day seven so I can definitely flip it and hope for the best!

:frow How are you and @radioman?
Hey there! We are OK, I am driving still, though the rheumatoid arthritis has been challenging. Four passengers from yesterday.... Will have to attach from the my phone. As a size reference, the pullets are in a 36" dog crate, the cockerels in a 40"...

Hubby has put the girls on restrictions! So they will be allowed babies when spring actually springs, which should be about June at the rate it is going.
Hey fisher!!! It's good to see you! And I totally feel that on the restrictions... I've been trying to take every egg from my geese that I can because it's still too darn early yet, plus I really don't want more babies in the one pen.

How's everyone holding up with all this rain though? My runs are decently flooded... I swear we're mulching the darn things this year.
