be extra nice to them,,,bribery has always worked to shut my neighbors up,,,,blackmail for some of them..I'm starting to get nervous. We moved here almost 2 years ago, and the beautiful brand new unfinished house next door has stood empty pending a divorce. This weekend for the first time there is activity going on over there. They are working on the house. I put my coops up before I knew anything about laws and such. That being said, all 3 are only about 50 ft. into the property line, and I have roosters crowing day and night! I am really praying some awesome, tolerant country folks get the place, or I could be in for a real headache!![]()
we can all send you some goodies, then you make up a really big basket for housewarming,,,,,we will keep fingers crossed for you, some folks are very tolerant and others not so much..

Thanks All! Good Advice. Thinking I'll take a goodie basket, and a basket of eggs with the offer of lifetime free eggs. I'm getting rid of most of the roos soon, so the crowing won't be so bad, but the coops & runs are another matter, although they are far from their actual house. They put French Double doors on the side of the house pointing at the chicken coops. Albeit, the coops weren't there at the time, but our house, barn, & pool were. I've been thinking the whole time we've lived here that I wouldn't have put those doors there. Oh well, it's not my house.I'd be a great neighbor, I just hope they give me a chance to show it.![]()
How much was it for you to hardware cloth all of that?
Hi Stu, just over the mnt from ya, north berksHi All !! I'm from Schuylkill County, I have a small flock of 10 birds,9 hens of mixed breeds.Have had over 50 at one time ,but no-more.Nice to meet my Pa neighbors!
How much ferrnented feed should I be going thru ??? I have 3- 5 gallon buckets going,,,I dump 1 whole bucket in every day,,,they also still have dry food available, but do not eat much of it...the fermented feed they clean up every day,,,I only feed this once a day.....or should i say dump....the easiest way i found was to just dump it into a plastic sand box (the kind that looks like a turtle)...
I have really noticed a difference in the poop piles, they are solid piles instead of runny, .....just seems like to much since most say they only keep 1 bucket at a time......this is feeding about 10 roosters and about 35 hens....
for some reason i can not get hubbies meat birds to eat the fermented feed.
try it drier first some birds are weird with starting a wet feed. I don't know how many birds ya have??? you have them all in one area? How much ferrnented feed should I be going thru ???
