Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

Love jersey giants but I was having terrible luck finding good ones so I gave up on the breed so please keep me posted on how the ones from the hatchery go

My new baby. Picked her up Saturday fromfawngrovechad's wife. Such a sweetie!

Aaaaw! for sure. I love beagles too! Really miss having them. (See my user name) Is she still a baby? What's her name?

Fawngrovechad, do you raise beagles? Being from Shamokin, did you ever belong to the beagle club?

MCC, are all of the marans eggs you hatched from black coppers, or are some cuckoos? Cuckoos can have the yellow undersides. Maybe blues too, brain fart, can't remember. Splash chicks are whitish yellow.

Reyvaughn, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that your babies stop picking at each other and get better soon. I guess you already tried blukote on their butts?

Wingstone, Sandhill Preservation is supposed to have good Jersey giants. Years ago, I had some from there and they were truly 'giant'.

GM all.

Diatomaceous Earth. You've got to use food grade. It dries up poo quickly when used in the bedding, kills mites and lice when used as a preventative in dust baths, or sprinkled in food it has tons of benefits. I know a lady that drinks it herself, NOT KIDDING! It is bad on the lungs though, and sucks the moisture right out of your hands. Wear gloves if you'll be handling it, and a face mask. I put it down early when the chickens are out of the coop so they aren't breathing it.

I don't know, so many people use it & like it. I am using it..I bought it, so it is getting used.
*Stake..it is Diatomaceous Earth ..DE..it is a natural element found in the earth(dirt), made from the fossils of organisms..I think it is a sand like component..I could be wrong..anyway, alot of people are using it to help keep pest away & to help keep areas dry...some people even eat it
