Ugh, don't have time to read through the 183 last posts haha! But need to vent.
My own stupidity and impatience cost me 6 of my 8 week old babies. Ma wanted the basement cleaned and chicks out, we put in large dog crate in shed since building coop is taking forever

Loverman decided to put them in the larger but much less secure clucker-trucker during the day. Speed up to night time - too much hassle to move 13 sleepy and grumpy babies into new cage inside shed right? We've shot and killed 4 raccoons and 3 opossums over the past few months, surely we have no more major pest problems; just for one night right?!
WRONG. 2 australorps, 1 bo, 1 br, 1 speckled sussex, 1 spangled hamburg. All nothing but feathers and guts now.
AUGH!

Soooo, as therapy I put 42 eggs in the new incubator. (3 doz are for other people; only 6 are for me lol) That's not unhealthy in an emotional way right?!
*sighs* Thanks for listening ya'll.

Sorry to hear that happened

Does anybody nearby have any lizards/reptiles that eat flightless fruit flies?  I just bought a vial of them at Petsmart last week, but the bird I was feeding died.  I had only taken about 4-5 flies out of the container.  If anybody could use them, please let me know!

I'm sorry to hear about the bird :(

I'm probably too far away to be worth it, but my Tarantula might eat them. My friend's geckos might also eat them...

So sorry :(

I know somone asked if anyone had frizzles! Well I have a bunch of white bantam Cochin frizzle babies right now and I will only need the hens! So if you would like a roo if I have any let me know! Will need to find them homes anyways since you should breed frizzel to frizzel!

OK, managed to get the netting over my grow-out pen run today...finally. That means my fat broilers can move to what HAS been the layer coop & the 4 hens & 1 roo I didn't sell yesterday can move to the new coop with the rest of the pullets. All of the spare roos will be coming out tomorrow to head for the swap meet as will all of the spare drakes & a ton of pekin ducklings. JJ gets to move the quail cage, scrub it out & get it repaired while I'm gone so it will be ready for the quail I will be bringing home from the swap. This should pretty much clear out my brooders except for a couple calls, rouens & a runner that will be staying until I can sex them and my son's 4 polish chicks & a couple banty babies that may stay. This will cut us WAY down on birds for now until the next big batch starts hatching the 25th. JJ will be happy as will my wallet & my feed bill.

and once they start playing a lot of them can't be shut off without leaving the page!

This started getting worse about a month ago, noticed many covered posts the last week or two.
