Quote: The blue is maybe 2 weeks younger than the porcelain & the porcelain is from right before Easter so she would be 8-9 weeks old, the blue would be 6-7 weeks & the FBCM is 4 weeks (just went back & figured out hatch dates...LOL). I constantly have stuff hatching so gets a bit hard to keep track sometimes.

I am so upset right now. I ordered Brahma hatching eggs from an individual that were to be shipped May 20. All I want to do is if I am not available to pick them up at Post office that I will have someone that can. I have been sending them messages to obtain tracking number and if they were shipped. No response. I really want some LF Dark Brahmas. Now I have to start a process to get my funds back. Very unsettling that people do this. Just give me a tracking number or just respond if you have an issue and are late don't ignore people. Sorry I really needed to vent.
I do have a question for Sally.
How long can you go after an egg is laid should it be set? When is to late?

Vagasil is fine! Pretty much the same medicine!
I know ya'll are serious....but I just can't stop laughing at this image!

Yeah, we got it here too...I am soooo tired of rain...and of course when it stroms...it likes to run down the hill....into the coop....grrr!
Saw blade peeper before paint.
That is sooo awesome!
So much to catch up on! My daughter, Hannah (9), is in the middle of her first hatch! She used her birthday money to buy silkies (eggs actually) and her own incubator (which acrually sucks, so I am building one for the next hatch) Here is the video from the first egg that hatched! A huge thank you to Sally Sunshine for all the amazing articles, and for pointing us toward CJ, and, of course Thanks a ton to CJ'S Silkies.
Awesome! Neat to see kids that invested in chickens!
Are you still looking for chickens? My layer flock is housed at my brother's house and they have just gotten the notice they must vacate the property.
Sorry to hear you have to let them go...if you need to rehome some locally, let me know.

Hopefully they are just busy and haven't checked their email, but I don't blame you for being frustrated.

I understand your frustration. It is okay to vent here. Most of us do sooner or later. We are all here for each other!

I believe Sally is on vacation for a few days.
Eggs are most viable for the first week after being laid. 10 days isn't bad either. Some people have had luck with 2 weeks.

Good morning everyone. Seems like it will be another rainy day in the Poconos. I got a call from the tick guy. He said it was a female deer tick and it was attached for 3 to 4 hours and we shouldn't worry since the tick would have to be attached for more than 24 hours to get lyme disease.
