Ok what does FBCM stand for? I get the copper Maran part. But what does FB stand for? You say these chickens have dark brown eggs? Anyone have chicks for sale that lives close by?

FBCM French Black Copper Marans, FB= Facebook. They lay the darkest brown eggs. Will pop you a pick in a min.

Depends on their lines. The better their lines, the better they'll sell. It seems that just about every flock has FBCMs. Price them right, and you'll have buyers lining up.

Thanks. I haven't decided on which roo will be the father yet but when I go to sell them, maybe I can provide pictures or something. Maybe they will sell at $5 per chick or should I go a little higher? What about the Australorps? Will they sell if I breed them? I would just like to get a little more than the $2.50 for a dozen eggs I get now to make this a free hobby or maybe even make a couple dollars extra.

By lines I mean where did they come from. in FBCM's Wade Jean Lines seem to be the most popular. Having said that, I personally think the minute you take them from the original breeder each farm looks for their own thing. For instance with my sebrights, the one breeder I got them from liked the "shakiness" in the head, and bred for that...thereby breeding TINY sebrights. The other breeder was looking for a perfect U in the back, thereby breeding much larger birds. They both came from the same original lines.

They are all from the Wade Jean lines but I got 10 from a local breeder, I hatched 1 from the chicken chick and I bought another pullet locally. I agree that the original line is pretty much meaningless after one generation. I also have no plans to show them or perfect them in any certain way. I just want the dark eggs. I figure other people might want them too.

Hey All I'm making a call for help.

This is completely unrelated to poultry or chickens in a way. I am divorced for the second time and the second ex-wife and her family were very vindictive. And I mean REALLY! She was hauled away in cuffs and went to jail for coming after me physically and with the car before she ran from them. Anyway...all this went before a jury and she was convicted in April 2012. They spent money and a lot of time working on beating me down financially, emotionally and mentally. And in this worked on beating down my business. Long story short they posted a claim online on a scam site. In this it paints me and my business in a really bad light. And with this being a "reputable"site there is no way to have it removed. It would take an initial $2000 to contest it coupled with an attorney with a court order having it removed. For those that know me, have met me or just care to help I would appreciate any positive comments/ rebuttals to be posted on this **** site. Instead of my website or even facebook page coming up when you search my business this ripoff report comes up. I was in the Eastern PA Business Journal and they used that against me in a number of ways, trashed me to vendors, friends, customer and future customers with this ripoff report. Feel free to do a web search for Patrick Landscapes and you will see it. Unfortunately the more people that click on it the higher rating it gets and with this is where I need rebuttals. Thanks in Advance everyone.

And to tie it into chickens...when people look up my business and see that it impairs my ability to provide for my chickens/quail/turkeys and the pig. lol

wow it is a busy morning....kilts, cartwheels, and folks falling down....well, just back from a feed run to pickering Valley feed....they still have a pretty good selection of birds(chicks,turkeys, pfouls) for those with room in their coops....

Yeah so sad I missed all this, stupid work keeping me busy!! almost 200 posts!! Geeszzzz I like Pickering Valley! Other than my one SS seems to be a Roo!! how is it I pick the Roo out of the bin that says PULLETS!!! OMG!

got a question for anyone with an answer... I have just dug-up a 'shoot' from a lilac bush. I tried to keep as many 'feeder-roots' on as possible..not many.., what I need to know is...did I just kill it or am I okay..I mean "it" okay??? I have it in a pot with soil and have watered it well. It is in the shade also. What else can I do to help it along. Oh, and I have it tied to a piece of bamboo for stability.

Was just by there. Wow! They had Langshan and Blue Andalusion (sp?) chicks!!!! Nice! And the Langshans were buy 2, get one free!Good deal.
