they should be fine. as they grow they will do what they want. I have younger ones in with older ones and they seem to stick together.
Okay just thought I would share a few more pictures................
wish the hardware cloth would not obstruct my pictures so much too!
so the first two pictures are when I got them all back in the coop tonite and the little ones were mingling near the big one............and were scared. They seem less scared if the little ones just hang out in the lower drawer area...........and the big one can have the whole back room...........Do you guys think this is okay? I figure as long as there is no blood ---its good!
I wanted to show you my run and overall coop and run arrangement.
You cant really see the birds in the run but you get the idea.....................the dog crate is in there with the 3 little ones,
and of course............very little feed containers of any type were left unturned over today!
look up spraddle legs. i would change from straw to pine chips. the larger cut not the fine. the chicks eat the fine cut and can not pass themI have a question for you chicken experts. One of my chicks has very wobbly and unstable legs, and looks drunk when she walks. She is on the same feed as the others, and was on straw from day one. She is the smallest of the bunch but is feathering as fast as the rest, and is a Buttercup. Any ideas? I already lost one a few days after I got them to a birth defect, I really would rather not lose this guy too. I took a video also (she is isolated from the rest, they literally walk all over her). I would skip to twenty seconds in.
It's a little late for this but I thought I would try. Does anyone in the southwestern part of the state know if the swap is still on for tomorrow at Tractor Supply in Delmont?
Your coop came out looking great. Congrats on the new birds. Howdy to all the new comers. Somerset county here.![]()
