I went from not selling any to having one person who would buy me out every week to now having so many people want them, I need more egg layers! All of them are from Facebook posts. I tried Craigslist but it didn't do anything for me. One of my regular / preferred customers now is my neighbor. She takes 2 dozen a week. If you have a Facebook account with local friends or a local page for your area, put it out there.
 
my news of the day--------------or chicken developmental milestone report is:

the girls all exited the coop this morning for the first time -------on their own power------no coaxing or guiding or being lifted out----
and they went happily down the ramp-------

so independent they are becoming!

now my big girl is supposed to be a laying hen who should be about one in October...............

given the stress of the move etc.................when might she start laying? wonder what you all think?

also I know some of you thought she might be older?

I don't know that she really has considered the nest box as a nest box ---because the 3 little ones-------------the 3 amigas.............seem to hang out and play in there a lot......................

One more question..............is it normal for the chickens to do this yawn like thing? Its not too often...............but today I did not watch them as much...................almost looks to me like they are gonna upchuck...........or gag or something but then I think its like a big yawn...........
remember my newness at this......................not yet a full week having chickens!

I posted on pennswoods, all my local groups on Fb, on my own wall. along with pictures and a sing by my mailbox. Here is my sign :))

Nice sign, cheap price! I get $3 a dozen and my price is cheap compared to the local farmers market. A lady there sells hers for $5 a dz for chicken eggs and $8 a dozen for duck eggs! She said duck eggs are better for diabetics, which I didn't know.

I was looking around and it seems they sell 2-3 a dozen. I didn't know duck eggs are good for diabetics either! learn somethign new everyday!
