Oh..mannnn...you are very fortunate..or should I say..your Chickens are, all those green goodies throughout the winter....
:cd
..I bet it is alot of work though!...running a business is a double-edge sharp thing sometimes..

Yes my chickens are lucky. I bring home treats for them all the time from the produce market. And the business is a family business so I'm not in it alone thankfully

Yep. This is my second time hatching. The first one was great. This one... nerve wracking.

...you will do it again and it will be better! Without trying to "minimalize' your disappointment/frustration...I try to take all the experiences..good & bad, and learn everything I can from them. It is very hard sometimes to even think about what in the world I could have done differently, but..there is always something..there has to be. It helps to make the next adventure more plausible. Even if it is just remembering that sometimes I am not going to know what went 'wrong' . No expert here!!

SOOOOOOOOO CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!

Heather, its a little far, but there is a rabbit 4H in Lancaster county. Manheim/Lititz, I think. I can find out details if anyone is interested. I think they are just getting started.
Yeah, that is far! The problem is if I join the one in Lebanon its farther to drive. The Dauphin Co. and Lebanon Co. 4-H fair activities are at the same time too. Dauphin Co. doesn't have a poultry club. The rabbit clubs for Lebanon are far too. Maybe I will just hold off for a year to worry about joining the rabbit club???

Hey neighbor!

I do not use lights. My reasoning is - I do not count on my eggs for income, so, I figure that giving the hens a rest during shorter light days so they can spend more time foraging is what works for me. Do I complain come holiday time and I'm getting 2 eggs per day? Heck yes! But it gives me a reason to patronize other farms in the area.

Like Stake I am counting on those Wyandottes to get me through winter.
