My turn hehe, our newest fuzzy butt and momma (Peanut). Hatched sometime in the last 24 hours, since it wasn't there yesterday.
15-20 more to go between the 3 broody girls, most if not all are internally pipped!
Awww stake, your chicks are so cute.I think 2 hours away would be a drive to get chicks.This is my first time hatching silkies, just got my rooster a few momths ago. I wouldn't care what kind of chicks I got if I need nthem for my little silkie. Momma is with her but not sure if she will thrive as an only chick.

Hope things work out well....its late in the season to find day old chicks; but, in the history of chicks there's got to to be hens who have successfully raised single chicks..Hope thing go well for you!

I like both the second and third pic... I don't know how you intend to use it on the page, that may be the determining factor.... although the color of the middle pic is indeed beautiful, the picture itself is 'busy' due to the number of leaves/ area of field of view. It is a great picture, but may be too busy as a background, and if you are shrinking it down it may loose some of it's impact when the individual leaves become smaller. #3 is again a beautiful pic, and is much simpler due to the focus on the few foreground leaves. It wouldn't distract the eye as much if it was used as a background and I think typing would show up better on it as long as it was bold enough to overcome the darker red. It would probably shrink down better also... but the darker color may be detruimental to the overall effect if the pic is much smaller. So either 2 or 3, but I would reserve judgment till you place it onto the page to see how it 'works' with the total layout.... both are great shots!
