Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

Both of my local feed mills will set up payments just like a utility company would do a budget plan....but you will still be a 3 hour trip away...

Chicken related news......the bator is chirping at me, it has rhodebars and bantam Cochin, a few mixed breed out of the layers just because I likes the egg colors. Some ducks also but they have another week to go, guess I better plug the other one in and he them seperated...

Non chicken related......Why do I feel guilty for calling off of work ? I hardly ever do this but dang it my back, butt and leg hurts,,,,,,,anyone know how to treat that nerve thingy that seems to be the problem.......I tolerate pain pretty good but this had me in agony to just put shoes on..
go to the doctor
ask for physical therapy prescription
rest-------in a good position.............lying flat on back with feet up on higher pillows or side lying.............not sitting for long time
ice or heat to the back
ibuprofen----at a higher amount as per dr instructions
then follow your PT's recs

The rhodebar, Yes....the Cochin eggs came from a local auction (root's) so who knows there.

Since I am taking some left over vicodin from a previous injury, not sure about the whiskey with them, but dang it I should not feel guilty, I may call off once every couple years..

Blarney that was. Yes ton the rhodebar, but the Cochin eggs came from root's auction, at least that is what the label said they were, we shall see.

Lisa, the doctor thing is not gonna happen, I have no insurance....but hubby did all the chores today, and I called off work, so there's some of the rest part..

What has worked for me is traction and warm compresses.... If you have a high bed or couch you can lay on the floor with your calves on the bed/couch and your knees at the edge, this will put a bit of pull on your leg to separate the bones in the joint where it is pinching. I have also had DH hold my leg at the knee while I lay on the bed and pull up and away with steady pressure for a few minutes, again with the idea to separate the joint. This is what has worked for me and was a process of experimenting with as many failures as successes... can't promise it will work for your problem though. If you are trying it I would suggest starting with very light traction and gradually increase, let your comfort level be your guide.
If you look up 'SI joint pain' you may find more ideas on home remedies... (Sacro-iliac joint)

for those thinking about getting bantam cochin....here are some pics of what I got from Blarney, colors are looking awesome..please do not bust me for the dirty pen, I know I am way behind on cleaning.

they will not hold still long enough for a good pic, and those 2 OE are very protective of them

Anybody have or know where I can get an already processed turkey for Thankgsgiving? We have been back and forth on who was having Thanksgiving this year, now I have 2 weeks to find a bird!!
