Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

Can I tell you this Wing..... If you make a few phone calls and talk to someone they can easily head you in a more simple direction, because what is easier for you is most times easier for them. Take this npip, I could have read until my brain was fried, ummmm ok well it did fry but still, I made the calls and within two weeks of those calls I am NPIP breeder.

great, and I am sure she would be! Awesome for all those pups!

our springers have 6-7 pups ea litter.
I had an English growing up! Best dog ever! And yeah the vet told us 7 or 8. But 10 is alot esp for a first litter she doing great everyone is doing great! So i am happy. Thats all I could ask for. And 5 already have homes and we havent even put them out there other then word of mouth! So we will get to see them grow up since they are all friends or friends of friends!!! Which makes me happy!

can not do much till we make the move, for I am not putting any more money into a property that technically still belongs to someone else...after we can get the proper equipment in place I do have local butcher shops an farmers market stands that show interest, but they can not legally resell my products as of now, so we just stick to small off the farm sales for now, and technically I can sell you any animal you want as live weight an offer free butchering...

I will most likely be making those phone calls an let the inspectors come out and then just take it from there when we are ready...figure the inspector will be the best critic to tell me what has to change...

hubby does want me to check into being able to sell to local shops an let them resell....I just have not gotten around to that yet..and I am not to keen on government people snooping around

As far as NPIP, when we were inspected this year-we have to test for AI and Pylorium-every time, every 3 months.
you shouldnt have to test for the PT, thats an annual thing, and in reading the provisions its the same for subparts, did the lab charge you for it? Question it the next time. and the AI is every 3 months because you also are AI clean. Do you do your own testing?

IT is very similar,,just slow go because the equipment is pricey........like I said earlier, I run into problems when the differences overlap,,,seems each animal has different guidelines at times....then finding info on rabbits is mind boggling an differs each time you talk to someone..

it will be years before I am ready to go after that commercial license..

An this is going to sound just terrible, but I like processing....there is a great feeling when everything on the dinner table from the meat to the wheat in the bread came from your own property instead of the store..

might take a bashing for that one but I have perfected my routine an can clean many birds in short time...

No bashing AT all here!! There is a definite sense of satisfaction when you know where it came from and how it was handled from egg to freezer, so to speak!
Hey..you will get "NO" bashing from me. Grew up hunting/fishing and I come from a VERY long line of PA dutch/Mennonite farmers,,,mostly dairy, but you KNOW they have everything..pigs,chickens...GOATS!

...I always enjoyed butchering deer/game after we harvested, no way they were going somewhere else to be processed!..not that is anything wrong with that..just like to do it ourselves..knowing the who, what, where & hows of all food is important , especially today.

x2!!

speaking of birds and processing, a perfect example of why husband an wife need to have specific jobs that do not overlap//

remember those chicks I picked up on monday to raise as small game birds....I got 25 chicks and since we both were asking around and selling I now have 35 pre sold....ooopppppsssss
