and no, they are not the same when chicken eggs are used,,,,,

Look good. I currently have an 18 egg carton almost full of the smaller pullet eggs. I have found over the past couple of years we almost always have at least a few hens laying smaller eggs, and they are the ones we use for doing pickled eggs, they work so much better. We don't have quail, so have to make do with the smallest we get.

Wing those look tasty!

I'm exhausted. Been working most of the day on clearing debris from the goat pen and the path. Still need to get some more tarps up....argh!

Cickenboy100, I'm just going to spectate at the farm show, no showing for me.

Wing... how long do they need to set before the pickling soaks in when you use the quail eggs?
I try to let them alone for atleast 2 days..will post pics if I try with bantie eggs...

that is not my pic it is an internet pic that made the mouth water since my quail stopped laying months ago...

never thought about that, I could use the serama an silkie eggs, may need to try that,, my grandkids take the smaller eggs.....would still have the same bite size tidbit.

better hurry, it has been snowing here for the last hour

Hope everyone is well! I haven't been on in months! Just got done placing extra hay in coops and going to lock everyone in tonight because of the cccooolllldddd weather. Chickens are not cooperating with me, they want to stay out in the snow that is now falling.

you need more serama hens, skip the quail lol! Same size eggs and alot less stink and they are cute but you know that you have several, just need about 2 doz more! And BTW I have a bator full of eggs.

With the cold tomorrow I will keep all the chickens inside their coops with the exception of two big brahma roosters who may fight if I let them in their coop all day together.

I will pay anyone who wishes to come butter up the White Faced Spanish combs and wattles! Those brats hate being held, but their combs and the Crested Cream Legbars will for sure frost bite if it dips as low as they suggest. :( I need a barn did I mention that! Tired of a million tiny coops!!

Hoping everyone battens down the hatches and has no severe frostbite like last year!
