you are a little to far away to deliver but this is why I grow sunflowers, I cut them off leaving a long stem, these get tied to the rafters in the coop,,,,yes they make a mess getting the seeds out but it also occupies them.....

I must have about 30 of them left this year still hanging in the barn drying

I have not seen anyone say they are letting their birds out tomorrow.
These will be dangerous temps. Keep them dry and inside. Sprinkle
the cracked corn all over the bottom of the coop and they can keep
themselves busy hunting it. Give them enough feed, water, grit, etc.
for 2-3 days and don't open the coop or windows until the temps rise again.
You can look thru the windows to check on them, if you want.
Hang tough, this should be over by Wed,

That's a good idea "wing", I never thought of growing sunflowers in my garden for the chickens.

I hung up a pine cone with peanut butter and seeds, raisins, and crack corn for them to peck at.......... after their initial fear, again.......they enjoyed it.

It seems if the pine cone is hung in a new location the whole fear and avoidance thing is all new again...........they don't seem to realize its just like the yummy one they
played with in the past!
