okay I'm thinking of 6 new babies. How big do I make the brooder?

LB:

I used the largest dog crate to brood my original 6...they were inside just short of 8 weeks....they were crowded a bit at the end but it was just a tad chilly to move them outside...btw after about 6 weeks you want them outside anyway....

I would be interested in shady maple get together.................just not on my coop building weekend the week after Easter!

Question: anyone ever had any blue andulsian chickens?

They are another option for white egg layers........

what do you think?

thanks

I cooked off 2 of the roosters today, and picked the meat for some soup,,,also made awesome stock, but being old boys they still have some stringy tough meat left on those bones and I hate to waste,,, would it be weird to feed this back to the chickens,,,,,,,,I know they are carnivorous, I have seen them strip bones before,

talk about eating your own...
My chickens love to eat chicken. They pick the bones super clean!! Felt weird the first time letting them eat chicken.

ok, here are the pictures I promised. We have the floor in on the shed side and the two walls between the shed and coop part. Those two big holes in the walls are where the nest boxes will be

Looking good!
