Chick question. Last night I turned their light out for bedtime and they seemed to handle it fine. I kept a small nightlight on for a little bit so they could find their place. Tonight, when I turned out the lights, it seems like chaos, everyone is upset and "protesting". Is this normal? Am I correct to just start keeping the light off? They are inside and we keep the heat no lower than 68. They are a month old and seem to be able to keep warm. They keep freaking out, and flapping around. Any suggestions from any of you night owls?
I'll post pics later. My mom's friend is using them for her Easter Photo Sessions.I hope they ham it up for the camera! Looking forward to seeing pics!Today is the chick's photo shootI'll post pics later. My mom's friend is using them for her Easter Photo Sessions.![]()

BARGAIN ALERT !!!
The TSC in Pottstown has older silkie bantam chicks for $1.00 each. They had about 30 of them when I was there an hour ago. The young ones are $2.99, but these, being older and (I guess) lacking some of the cuteness, are reduced for quick sale.
Anyone interested in hatching with broody hens, this is your chance, buy a bunch and raise them. Sell the excess males cheap to wingstone (just don't ask their fate if you grew attached to them). My silkies go broody a lot, and often co-brood like fisher's wyndottes. Silkie hens are (IMO) the ultimate sweet, pet chicken. Other people must agree because they are always in demand.
Wish I was closer, would snatch some up. Love my silkies
