How old are these, Wing? Had an awesome time at the Delmarva Show, met some really knowledgable people and the kids had a blast. Nice to see Orpingtons take both Best of Class and Reserve in English (not my birds but still great to see), our lil black Orp did better than we thought and our big blue girl not so good. Unfortunately while unpacking show crates we had 2 Marans escape. I thought for sure these 2 would go into their old coop at dusk and they didn't! Spent more time than I would have liked to searching for them with a flashlight, I can only hope they make it through the night and I find them tomorrow.

I grew up there.  I am about 20-25 minutes away.  My family still has property out by keystone lake. Are you close to Elderton?

Are you around Ford City? That's about 40 minutes from me. People we know live near there on a farm. Their daughter goes to Elderton.

I know where you are at, we are looking to add a few pigs for breeding, but I want a small size pig that can be kept outside and handled easily, not the 500 pounders that we had in the past, (I have had my share of run ins with pigs )....I narrowed it down to 2 breeds, but 1 is still very rare and costly, so I need to go with my pocket,,, I also specifically bought meat from these breeds to try..

you can usually find rabbits at auction, it might be a way to try the processing and the meat, it might help you to decie if you really want to do this
 
Have you ever wanted a certain breed, than when you finally have them, not really like them.....

I am not sure about these east indie ducks, they have got to be the most skittish ducks I have ever had,,,and stupid as far as ducks go,,,,beautitiful though, just not sure and hubby really does not like them, he wants me to sell the whole flock of them
 
My hubby is talking about meat rabbits also but I want to try it first without having to actually process the animal. I just want to buy some rabbit meat. I can't find any here in the hinterboonies.
