Aurora! Nice Coop! I've never put poop boards in mine, great idea with the linoleum.

I was supposed to get to the auction tomorrow morning, but never got my boxes made tonight. Too tired.

LadyBehir, Have a great time, the brick walk should be wall to wall tulips, my favorite flower.

Ditto, used to charge for blow drys too. But I specialized in nails. Still do!

. My girls went to bed with some wet feathers. It's warm enough, and their torsos/bodies were pretty dry, so they can tough it out.
Husky photobomb! That little roo is such a cutie!

Neighborly? Is that what we're calling it now?

No joke, I went to fill up my glass of juice that I had left in the cup holder on the couch. When I brought it to the kitchen, I noticed it had a "crumb" on the ledge. Turned out to be a large tick!

I liked the "hair" end of things, can/could do nails, just enjoy/enjoyed all the different stuff with hair

....and WOW that tick is nasty!!

..The one we pulled out of Caesar today was nice sized, it's abdomen was full...gross little things....we were able to get it all out, didn't leave anything behind

...We also put the topical on them today ...the shampoo just isn't doing it this year....
BTW, and not chicken related. Just got in from seeing The new Godzilla. Great movie if you like that sort of thing!
thought it looked like a real action-fun movie....i bet the CG was great for this type of show!
I think the new movie with Tom Cruz as a soldier looked interesting, lots of special effects for that one too! Don't really care about Cruz, but really like the SCI-FI stuff

I heard a bit of peeping, and the hole is bigger now and I can see it's beak move and the other one I saw moving has also pipped and I had candles the 3rd one and it has internally pipped :D

Yep, nothing like a husky butt to bomb a photo lol! Just don't look at the mess in between lol. Chip is the little chick that my son picked out so no matter what he turned out to be, he had a free ride for life lol. He struts around like he's singing "I'm sexy and I know it!" Lol

I hate ticks. Ew I hate them. We've pulled 2 off of our dogs so far this spring. I can't wait until the chickens are old enough to free range and easy those nasty things!

Thanks :) don't tell Hubby, I thought that's how poop boards were supposed to be. .. With linoleum lol. They're perminantly fixed in there so at least they should be easy to clean :)

Hi all, Lancaster County here... FINALLY found you guys haha! I need to get my chickens and, thankfully, someone mentioned the Green Dragon "Special Sale" for today!! We were going to go last night, but just too much going on plus I didn't want to deal with the mud after the downpour

We have the coop almost finished (built from all repurposed materials yay), just need to insulate the last wall and close up the nesting boxes. Then we need to enclose the run and tarp the top. We have a fairly roomy rabbit cage we were planning on keeping the future girls in for transport. Do you think they'll be ok in there for a few ours till we finish the work? We want to get 5, Green Dragon Saturdays don't happen often and I don't want to miss the opportunity to get better quality girls!

Anyone know what time it starts? Gotta wake hubby and the boys... my 10 yr old is going to be soooo excited, just like his momma!

Welcome from another Lancaster Countian!

No idea when the same starts, but if you don't find what you want, plenty of people here will be happy to help. There is a huge variety available locally. Just ask and you'll have way more than you thought you wanted.

Very good to know!! When we first thought about getting chickens a few months ago I was only thinking about 3, then DH surprised me and upped it to four. When we talked to our landlords about the prospect, they suggested 5, one for each member of our family LOL!! Our coop is on the small side and run space is limited, but if all goes well I have a secret plan to expand along the side of the house... shhhhh

ETA: Thanks for the welcome, I knew there were plenty of us around here, but didn't know how to "connect". YAY for BYC

Be warned. We are " neighborly", the new term for enablers. I started wanting 8, currently have, I have no idea. Since extra roosters and chicks that are for sale don't count, maybe 25? For those who don't count chicken math, maybe 60? Seems to change daily, OK, at least weekly.

Lots of great people here. I think some will be at the dragon today. They'll be the ones bringing birds to sell and going home with more than they brought.
