Let's see, my day,

Get feed.

Decide to try to mow waist high grass in field.
Stall tractor, won't restart.

Get lawn tractor stuck in mud.

Decide to cut wood. Lose oil cap to saw.

Give up, take nap.

Find oil cap from old saw that fits. Cut more wood.

Remember to feed animals.

Drive car into field, pull out lawn tractor. Cut some grass in the field with lawn tractor.

Some days I should have stayed in bed.

So I have a question about what you guys would do.

I have 4 chicks (4 weeks old), and they're getting big. I'm hatching more chicks next weekend. I'm keeping the serama chick from this batch. There's a swap tomorrow, and the next one is in 3 weeks. I can't wait that long. They're getting big and stinky and I want to get rid of them before the new chicks hatch because I'm afraid of bullying. Sorry if I'm being confusing. Let me know if you need some clarifying.

Should I sell the 3 big chicks tomorrow and keep the serama alone for a whole week? Or keep another chick and just have them in a divider until the new chicks hatch and then sell the big chick all by itself? I'm just confused on what I'm gonna do. I have until tomorrow morning to decide.

What would you guys do?

Bump?

Wondering who went to the Dragon and what ya got.I stopped in a 2:00 and they didn't even finish the back row yet.I'm guessing they ran till 6:00?
Lots of eggs, chicks and adult birds!

We were there until about 2:30. There was sooo much to choose from, but of course we were being very selective because it will be our 1st flock and we have very stringent requirements lol! My 10 yr old fell in love with EVERYTHING! He cried when they sold the 1 day old calf he "taught to walk" lol! We almost bought 6 in the same cage (3 Black Aracauna... EE... hens with a roo and 2 Speckled Sussex's), but our son distracted us and we lost the highest bid, which was only $17.50

!!! We were loving all the chicks, but we don't have the time or money to invest in them right now, next year for sure hehe. I had to keep reminding DH and DS that we need good layers who are already, or close to, laying. It's the first time I had to be the voice of reason hahahaha! Of course I am the most educated, thanks to BYC, so it was a lot of fun because they kept turning to me and saying "Pleeeaaassseee Mommy". We ended up leaving with no chickens, but then we went to TSC in New Holland and got the rest of our accessories so we have all the proper accommodations for our girls! We will be finishing the coop and run tomorrow so we can go to Root's on Tuesday and/or Green Dragon again next Friday to get our girls.

In the mean time, if anyone local has Black Australorp, Orpington, Wellsummer or all black any "heavy" girls, EE's, Wellsummer's, Sussex's, Sex Link's or Wyandotte's for sale please let me know! We need good layers, but want pretty, cold hardy girls that handle confinement well. And of course Easter Egger's because everyone should have at least one lol! We also need them to be relatively quiet and friendly due to our current location (Lititz Borough). We would be forever in your debt

Here are some pics of our progress, we are a little further than the pictures show, but not much. I'll post more tomorrow when we're finished-ish.
