I've been having issues with Dumor Chick Crumbles. Every time everyone is eating it, they start coughing, sneezing, and look like they're having a really hard time swallowing. It seems very dusty and powdery. Has this happened to anyone else?

My fermented whole grain experiment continues,

I have a few hen's that being rooster favorite's seem to always have bald spots, they are growing feathers at a fast rate all of a sudden.
Egg production has picked back up
I am finding that they will pick in a different order at times, one day they may pick the wheat out first and other days they barely touch it? Same with other grains.

I noticed that the poop piles are not as watery also, looks like a very small doggy pile of poop.

Am gonna stick to the grains since it is going well..

This experiment overflows into the meat section also, the current batch of meat birds have been fed nothing but grains ( fermented and sprouted ).

I may have to try this by increasing the scratch percentage of my ferment. My egg production is horrible right now.

I use them, but ferment with scratch, so can't help.

It's weird though, it affects my duck the worst. He coughs and the dust flies out of his mouth and then he sometimes wheezes after eating it like it went down the wrong pipe or something.

I haven't bought the Dumor feed in awhile. I use a feed mill's feed. Maybe you can ferment it and that way it won't be as dusty.

Argh all that snow stayed around for it seemed like months on end!!! Not looking forward to that again!

Just something to make you smile lmao

I'll try to ferment it but I'll see what I can do.

Chippy, my crew does the sneeze thing when eating scratch...I always thought they were just eating too fast....

so I finally tiled the walls of the new coop! ugh do I feel tired and achy!

its quite a look..............you have to consider there are several different tile patterns and colors..............so its...............well interesting yet functional?

I was considering the easier to clean scenario.............and to do it just once ..............

we are also building the new run.............with split rail fencing that I got from someone who was putting in a new fence

still much to do................will they ever move into the new coop?

and WHEN will all the scraps and stuff go away from the backyard? WHEN was that???

so hope its soon!

now the new coop has wonderful windows..............what I mean is lots of natural sunlight..............and ventilation!

Mine sneeze on any dry feed. Just another reason I ferment. No sneezes on fermented feed.

Thanks everyone. My duck was vaccuuming scratch out of my hand today and then coughed and like, threw up water. It came from his mouth. I think he just finished drinking maybe. I don't know what happened. It was bizarre. There's a 5 gallon bucket in the shed that I may be able to swipe for fermented feed.
