I don't remember the dose on it... but I would just mix it up in a small quantity, give her 2 or 3 droppers worth of it right off and put the rest into a chick waterer or small dish for her in her hospital cage.On my seconds and closer inspection, I see now that my favorite girl has a puncture wound. She has been just standing and not pecking much, and not interested in food, but she did drink a little. I have her inside on some towels in the dog crate to keep her warm. Only time will tell, but it doesn't look good at this point..![]()
I have nutridrench, but do I just add to her water at this point or just shoot a dropper full down her throat?
Wash the puncture out thoroughly with either warm, soapy water or disinfectant of your choice, if you found one puncture you can picture how a small set of jaws would fit around the hen and then check on the opposite side to see if there is another puncture or possibly just a bruise. The upper and lower canines are intended to grip prey, so the wounds often follow the pattern of the teeth. Sometimes prey gets lucky and the bite isn't square and if that is the case then the patterns are disrupted. I am hoping it was disrupted on your hen.
