No, but if she ends up a girl and you have a bit of room for her then she may make an awesome broody for you.

Oh yes, I was planning on using her for eggs to eat and broody hen. If it turns out to be a rooster we will have him in a separate run with other hens with imperfections that we dont want to use for breeding so either way she gets to live as long as she eats drinks and thrives.

Wel I just checked on her and it was gone...I use sand is the brooder and my best guess is either it was sand or food stuck on her eyelid. So maybe I wont have to cull her after all.

My cross beak is a happy and healthy chicken with a funky beak................I love her and she is doing great...................so as long as yours can eat well .............then why not just wait and see how she does. Mine has a more significant cross beak............hard to tell how things will progress because yours is so little.

Mine also lays nice eggs and gets along well with the others...........she is a silver laced Wyandotte and has a wonderful temperament............... its just a funny beak.........otherwise all is good!

I have yet to see her eat or drink on her on So I am gettign a little concerned. How do I get her to eat and drink? I dip her beak in food and water every 2 hours...She is only 1 day old. I plan on lettign her live as long as she can eat/drink and is thriving there is no reason to Cull her :)

Chicks can go the first three days without eating if needed, they do in shipping all the time.

I've never had a cross break, but a nipple style waterer may be easier for it, drinking with its head up.
