Merry Christmas all !....almost time to start planning for spring....

Everyone should post those spring plans, that way I will be reminded of all that I forgot to put on my list

Merry Christmas to all of my Pennsylvania Chickeneer friends!! I hope all had a great day....
Presents are opened, family brunch is finished and dishes are done..... so now I can finally enjoy the day! LOL

I do have one more Christmas stop to make tomorrow, then we can kick back and relax until next year!

Thanks! It looks like one more cracked open and another one is zipping. The one that was cracked open was being stepped on by my broody's sister who was trying to lay an egg.

. Hopefully, it will make it. So I kicked her out, put everyone under mama hen, and shut the door. No more interruptions in the hatching suite!
Awesome! Just a recommendation, my DH saw the Hobbit with his sister the other night in 3D and they said they really thought it was terrible in 3D. They felt it would have been much better on the regular screen. Just wanted to give you a heads up. Maybe check out some reviews?

Great news about the chicks hatching on Christmas day - congratulations.

The hens gave us a present today - 51 eggs
Maybe they got into the nice weather today.
For their present, I cut up a leftover pumpkin and spread it around for everyone. They ate those big seeds right down.

Maybe they got into the nice weather today.
For their present, I cut up a leftover pumpkin and spread it around for everyone. They ate those big seeds right down.

We have over 100 hens, maybe closer to 120 with the young ones that will get to POL in the spring, so hopefully we will be getting a lot more eggs per day when spring comes around.

My niece is in charge of prepping and selling the eggs, with all the proceeds going to her college fund. I like hatching chicks and selling them, and all that money is hers also. Her dad and I pay for the feed and other costs. I'm not sure we are at a break even point yet, even will all the labor "free". but I hope the sale of chicks and started pullets will mean she is saving more for college than the money spent for food and such. If not, at least it's fun.

That's one advantage of an incubator - you can sneak down in the middle of the night and take a peak.
