Looks good. Can you use that cooking method for Muscovy?

I roast my muscovy like a turkey, just put some carrots, onions and celery inside since I can't eat filling. Delicous. We were worried our daughter might be upset becausr she knew it was one of ours but after supper she asked when we could roast Hector (our other male).

As far as eggs, Suzie Q hasn't started laying yet. I think she started mid-March last year. She got all crazy broody snapping at my hubby and turning her head full around like the exorcist. Her and my turkey girls, Silverbell & Star, kept stealing everyone's eggs.

This is funny to me because I had someone here yesterday picking up a pair of call ducks. My 20 yr old told her he would never pay that much for those ducks because there wasn't enough meat on them to eat

60 bucks for a pair? Sounds good! Are the sq? I have trouble finding people to buy mine locally and they are top notch show quality. My chocolates won states in kentucky last yr! I have only ever got one buyer and sold a drake for 10 dollars....

They both had minor flaws but were good breeder quality. Show quality go for closer to $50-60 per bird. This was $60 for the pair.

I am so tired of winter. My son and I just did a wood run and we filled the pile higher than I am tall. I am short but still it's a lot of wood!!! I can't wait till we don't have to bring in wood. Then we need to restock our wood pile. We burnt through a boatload of wood this year

We still have the 4 boys. I won't let him eat them lol. They are the looking and making more ducks, not the eating type according to me lol. I guess we could always try the smaller of the drakes. That would leave us with 3 drakes and 4 ducks. I am not processing anything in this weather though. Hubby wants an army of ducklings eating all the bugs and then we will eat them

4 drakes is way too many for only 4 ducks. Your ducks are going to end up hurt from males fighting over them. 1 male with 4 females is enough, 2 is really pushing it.

i would keep 2 of the drakes, but then I am always cautious of keeping a backup....
somerthing always happens to the boys when I have no back up

I would keep a backup drake, but get more ducks asap.
