Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

Take a piece of  goat fencing, bend it in a shallow arc and cover with a (old style) heating pad. The older pads don't have auto shut off, control the temp under their 'cave' by altering the amount of bend in the arc which basically raises the 'roof' of the cave.

Now I need to find an old heating pad. All the new stuff is safe. I hate safety rules.

Wait, you're an EMT, probably not what you want to hear, lol. Never mind.

I'll also need goat fencing, since I'll then have the fencing, I'll need goats. I'll also need fence posts. That means I need a post hole auger.

Yay! More toys!

Nope, not just man logic.... must be farmer or fisherman logic because I can follow your line of thought! Totally makes sense!

This type of thought process is why we have more fishing stuff than the local Gander Mountain!!!

Are you saying USPS is now requiring NPIP certificates to ship eggs?
If so, OUCH!

I have been told there always was a check box that says are you NPIP on the USPS form....I know a number of folks that just checked it and nobody questioned...since there's alot of AI out west, they are probably enforcing the regs....

I have one you can have, it has no cover and just a hi or lo switch....Do not tell the EMT lady but we ignored the safety warnings and I still have the scar from the burn that it gave me for falling asleep with it

Awesome, does it's head swivel back and forth? How has it been in the food and water department?

I moved them to the brooder last night. They are still learning their way around. I gave it a couple drops of vitamins, and put a lot of feed on the floor. At the moment they rest a lot but it seemed very alert and strong.

I'm using a red hat lamp in a dimly lit room. Probably going to try to design a no light heater for them this weekend since I can't really afford a fancy system.

Heat lamp would be better for the albino imo... I found mine just stumbled around the brooder until they finally found the ecoglow... Plus, the red light would camoflauge their red eyes. My "normal" babies pecked the CRAP out of the albinos eyes for the first week, it was so sad.

Went to a reptile show to get turtles for our daughter and came home with 3 khaki campbell ducklings. 3 for $10, couldn't help myself.
Sounds like a good deal.. but how do you find ducks at a reptile show??? LOL

Trust me that the EMT lady doesn't follow too many safety rules herself! (except seat belts.... those I do use)
I even tear the tags off of pillows!

Congrats, and I love turtles and frogs but hubby insist that everything be edible

uuhhmmm.... frogs and turtles are both good and sometimes either raised for food or hunted for food. In fact, there is a season and limits listed for them in the Pa Fishing laws.

a string of red Christmas lights strung around the brooder would take care of the lighting issue without overheating the area. And most light strings are pretty easy on electric.
